The Society presents programs throughout the year. We do this in support of our mission to “promote and sustain interest in the history of Delaware County”. These programs are open to the Delaware County community and the general public. Come join us, learn and share our rich Delaware County History.

Horses, Hooves, & Historical Homes
OPEN HOUSE AT MEEKER HOMESTEAD & MILLWORKER COTTAGE
Come tour the 1820's Meeker Homestead Museum and create an articulated horse puppet to take home!
Come tour the Millworker Cottage and play horseshoes!
A Fall Victorian Tea: Crimson Leaves and Crinolines
Hear about the history of tea and tea etiquette, and learn how crinolines shaped women’s
fashion and lifestyles in the Victorian era
Paranormal Tours
Ghost hunts are back at the Historic Jail and Sheriff's Residence in downtown Delaware! Get more details through the Register button below. There are two tours scheduled for each evening:
Group 1: Check-in begins at 7:45PM, intro at 8:00PM, 2-hour investigation starts at 8:15PM, debrief and departure by 10:15PM.
Group 2: Check-in begins at 11:15PM, intro at 11:30PM, 2-hour investigation begins at 11:45PM, debrief and departure by 1:45AM.
GrandBuddies Then vs. Now: How Life has Changed
An intergenerational gathering for adults to share what their life was like in the
1900’s by using provided museum artifacts with kids and grandkids.

Come and meet us all week at the Delaware County Fair at our booth in the Merchant Building! Become a member, become a volunteer, and meet our staff! Purchase the newly-published book, Historic Barns of Delaware County for $25.00 while you are there!

encompasses almost 200 years. Come and
hear about this unique history!
Paws, Husks, and County History
Join us as we open Delaware County Historical Society’s historic homes for free tours. Walk through the early 1800’s Meeker Homestead and the 1850’s Millworker Cottage - two very different lifestyles. Family activities will be offered, too - an animal track scavenger hunt in the Millworker yard, and cornhusk crafting at Meeker. Be sure to sign up on Eventbrite.
