History Museum Meeker Homestead in Delaware OhioNew signs are up on the historic venue, The Meeker Homestead, as the Delaware County Historical Society assumes management of the property.

This marks the culmination of a five year process.  It began when Tom and Carol Porter decided to entrust the future of the Meeker Homestead and Garth Oberlander Barn, one of Delaware County’s oldest homesteads, to the Delaware County Historical Society.

It also marks the commencement of The Society’s effort to restore the historic property. The Historic Meeker House’s south facing area is being renovated to house The Society offices. The remainder of the house will be prepared to become a museum of early Delaware County history.  The Society is creating an exciting Event Venue in the historic barn.

The Barn at Stratford events venue is hosting Barn Weddings, Corporate Events, and Special Occasions. The Barn at Stratford just concluded a two-day appearance at the Columbus Weddings Show where hundreds of prospective brides had a taste of the barn in a fully decorated Barn Wedding Booth.
